I’ve uploaded the techteam article that went into the re.sonance.007 catalogue. It’s called “sonance.techteam strides forth” and includes some photos by nuss when we were at lindabrunn.
Main point of this is to figure out what the structure of the evolve page is. Should this be used for all tech team doco in the future? We want to figure out the doco strategy for the future, and it seems that werkstattext wiki isn’t part of that future.

some themes did not work, because their names included ()
so browsers were not able to fetch the stylesheets.
corrected the names for all these themes now.
installed new version of wordpress-mu with bugfixes now.
this is wordpress 1.2.4 now 
Every Wednesday, 19.00 (not so sharp!) at metalab … tech talk, gossip and whatever else is happening… (last week was laser grafitti demo).
today we updated this multi-user wordpress from version 1.0 to 1.2.3!

We have to announce that last tuesday the main server had to take another day off. One of the harddisks went crazy. Even if our server-room is in the basement and the ventilation there is very proper, we lost 4 disks this summer. (including a important apple laptop disk). It was a hot one! Either the Maxtor Maxline III disks with 5 year of warranty is a really crappy disk-series or the sun was simply shining to much this year 
We are sorry, cause we had to revert to a backup and lost one day of data, cause of this. Still we where kind of happy that our backup system is now proofed to be reliable also in the case of emergency.
Ramiro Cosentino, Ian Grigg, Peter Mears & Philip from the Kunstlabor did a very good job recreating the whole setup from the backups. They all worked a whole night through in order to get the data back online. Especially Rama was sweating a lot, cause he wanted to go onto strongly needed holidays with his friends & girlfriend. Simon was shivering a night long form far away in estonia while he could not do anything but hope that everything goes well there in the main-site in the beautiful Vienna.

On friday the 14th of july, right after midday the line of our upstream provider went down. I was up in the mountains, so the sms message was not able to reach me. When i reached the top of the mountain at 6:30 morning that saturday to watch the sunrise and turned on my phone it started beeping in a permanent manner. I tried to call the persons who are responsible for our upstream lines, cause the route to the majority of our servers was down. After a view calls i got the information that they are on a mountain hike too.
Right after Steve reached the bottom again he and the great Andreas Marksteiner from Funkfeuer immediately fixed the broken line. The fault was happening cause the provider did shout down a customer that ran out of money and on bad luck the sonance.artistic.network. line was linked with that same customer. They just forgot about us for some seconds…….now everything is running great again, and we are now linked direct to the router “Subway” of Funkfeuer Vienna, who just did a great job for you and me.
Please excuse if the downtime mad troubles on you, but maybe also servers do need some holidays form time to time, when the summer is to hot (see also yesterday news about the power breakdown in new york: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/19/nyregion/19power.html )

You can listen to the stream under http://stream.sonance.net:8800/sonarchive.ogg.m3u
Thanks ramiro consiento (burnstation) we can now provide a constant radio stream of the sonance archived audio content. live shows are going to be possible soon. Still we have to write some of the documentation, but the audio archives are going to be published from now on. As a sonance.member. you can upload your audio files to the server stream.sonance.net with ftp and tell us about to include your self made music into the radio show. You can connect the server with your usual ftp-useraccount and password. Have fun in uploading your stuff and publishing of your sounds. The content is also browsable over the archive under http://stream.sonance.net/netjuke/ . The list there is generated automaticly according to the meta-information ( ID3 tags ) in the mp3 or ogg file. Please add the metadata to your files before uploading them the server, that makes sense cause of the auto-generated artist / album / title / genre collections in the archive.
please upload also your video content to that server, cause the machine is dedicated to be our future media archive anyway.
