We have to announce that last tuesday the main server had to take another day off. One of the harddisks went crazy. Even if our server-room is in the basement and the ventilation there is very proper, we lost 4 disks this summer. (including a important apple laptop disk). It was a hot one! Either the Maxtor Maxline III disks with 5 year of warranty is a really crappy disk-series or the sun was simply shining to much this year We are sorry, cause we had to revert to a backup and lost one day of data, cause of this. Still we where kind of happy that our backup system is now proofed to be reliable also in the case of emergency.

Ramiro Cosentino, Ian Grigg, Peter Mears & Philip from the Kunstlabor did a very good job recreating the whole setup from the backups. They all worked a whole night through in order to get the data back online. Especially Rama was sweating a lot, cause he wanted to go onto strongly needed holidays with his friends & girlfriend. Simon was shivering a night long form far away in estonia while he could not do anything but hope that everything goes well there in the main-site in the beautiful Vienna.
