servers had a weekend of

On friday the 14th of july, right after midday the line of our upstream provider went down. I was up in the mountains, so the sms message was not able to reach me. When i reached the top of the mountain at 6:30 morning that saturday to watch the sunrise and turned on my phone it started beeping in a permanent manner. I tried to call the persons who are responsible for our upstream lines, cause the route to the majority of our servers was down. After a view calls i got the information that they are on a mountain hike too.
Right after Steve reached the bottom again he and the great Andreas Marksteiner from Funkfeuer  immediately fixed the broken line. The fault was happening cause the provider did shout down a customer that ran out of money and on bad luck the sonance.artistic.network. line was linked with that same customer. They just forgot about us for some seconds…….now everything is running great again, and we are now linked direct to the router “Subway” of Funkfeuer Vienna, who just did a great job for you and me.
Please excuse if the downtime mad troubles on you, but maybe also servers do need some holidays form time to time, when the summer is to hot ;-) (see also yesterday news about the power breakdown in new york: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/19/nyregion/19power.html )
