Our NEW released cataloge resonance-network-futures-005 was well recieved. Still there are still some. One catalog (80 color pages) is worth 20 Euro. Get yourself a copy of the first |sonance|network| hardcopy by ordering it. Please support |sonance|network| and buy yourself a copy! Thank you in advance. We also send it by ordonary mail to you.

The up-following parliaments-of-art symposium was a very important step in the netart and netculture producer szene in vienna. http://netznetz.net/wiki/index.php/Parliaments-of-Art
Lots of important guests form all over europe where here in vienna and the netznetz community did the decissions on how to split up the upcoming 500.000 euro of fundings for the year 2006. It is done. We now know how we split up the coins between all those particiating groups for 2006.

Listen all the talks including the audio documentation of the decission making process and the results via webradio under http://medienarchiv.fh-stpoelten.ac.at/ Radio Q21
Greetings and have fun in uploading and publishing even more of your material.
Take advantage of the sonance-network-structures!

quota statment, audio/video streaming & tv production

Filed under: Uncategorized — binsh @ 2:14 pm

On our new systems we have now a function of setting quota on your ftp and emailaccounts. We had to do this, cause our harddisk went to often beyond there possibilities. Sorry about that, but it was necessary.

If you have to less space for your emails of your ftp data please just write a mail to the address and we give you more space.

From time to time please clean up you your mail and ftp accounts, by downloading or deleting the stuff you do not need. You can use pop3 to grab you mails and delete them on the server and ftp to clean up your space.

If you have music of video data to publish please store it on the streamingserver!!!!!!

We are on the way to build a video and audio content archive there. Your content then could be published within our streaming radio and video channels.

Radio channel in beta phase: http://stream.sonance.net:88/
Video channel in beta phase: http://stream.sonance.net/

To connect the streamingserver just use your normal ftp account and connect yourself to the server stream.sonance.net to upload stuff. Please contact us then so we can include / link your fresh content to your radio and video channels.

If you are intressted in bringing the streaming media channels forward (create a design, run the public station, create a metadata archive or start up a sonance-network-member-interview radio/tv broadcast programm to be send over the OkTo http://www.okto.tv cable TV station, play-fm, radio orange and/or in the web, feel free to contact us as well.

HOWTO import emails from mx1, the old (hacked) sonance mail server

Filed under: Uncategorized — binsh @ 2:13 pm
There are two ways of get your OLD mails & ftp-data imported into your mail software:
For both ways at first you have to download:
• You have to login to the ftp server ftp.sonance.net with your new email-account name and password: e.g. name_sonance_net and your new email password to connect to the user private ftp space.
• There you can see the folders of your old mailbox, the file with the name of your old email-accountname address is the former inbox, you should also se your old mailfolders ( all in the unix mbox format ) and your user-ftp data which was stored on mx1.
• If you do not see this files, please contact us under .
• DOWNLOAD ALL THE STUFF AND PLEASE DELETE THE THINGS YOU DO NOT NEED ANYMORE!
Therefore open a ftp program (e.g. duck, http://cyberduck.ch/ or FileZilla http://filezilla.sourceforge.net ) and login to the server with the email-user account data.
• Now Create the same subfolder-structure in your local folder in your email program to put the downloaded mails ( e.g. make a mailfolder called “mx1import” and the subfolders in your thunderbird.
First way, next steps:
• Look for the local folders of your email program on your computer and find out where all the subfolders of the local folder are saved (in your filebrowser, explorer, finder). There you can also see the subfolder you just created in your email program: “mx1import” (If you don’t see the folder close your email program and start it again, then it should work)
• Put the downloaded (mbox) files (subfolders with the emails) to the subfolder “mx1import” in your filebowser.
• If you open your email program you will find all the emails from the old server in the local folder subfolder “mx1import”.
• From there you can “drap and drop” the most important mails back to the imap server, if needed.
Second way, next steps:
• Some Email-Clients can Import Mbox files or
• look for a plugin to download for your email program on the net: (e.g. google for “Mbox Import Thunderbird: http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html or german version: http://www.thunderbird-mail.de/ -> erweitern/erweiterungen/mboximport/ -> get the plugin)
• Install the Mbox import plugin in your email program
• Import the downloaded Mbox folders with the MBOX-import funktion of you emailclient software.
