After having a great weekend i started recreation processing again.
still some webpages fom companies are not running cause to much hardcoded systempathes are coded into some webpages. people, even if they are professional programmers sometimes really do not get the sence of “variables”, “configuration files” and “relative path structures”. it is really a hard thing for systemoperators if you are programming like this, and for yourself
I was recreating on those codes and winding a way how to get this fu*** horde webmail system to read out the users emailadresses and realnaems for the new ldap database.
Horde3 / IMP4 just woun’t do it. I need help from a programmer! I can not figure it out myself. Please write me if you can help me with complex php codes!

Also users who allready did read this part of the firstaid-online documentation, please check it our again, cause there is a important new hint about the usage of the IMAP server-service written there.
The new mailinglist server is running: You can start create/request your own email newsletter and/or workgroup lists and un/subscribe from/to mailinglists hosted by the sonance list-servers under https://manege.sonance.net/wws/lists
Just go onto Login and then Click onto “Send me a password” there to get into the mailinglist system.
today pinzo from karate-joe helpt me importing the mailinglists into the new mailinglist manager. all your mailinglists are up and running again, and every user can create mailing and workgrouplist by himself from now on.
thanks pinzo for that help. we where also transfering the postgresql databases onto the new system and the are running again. some bugfixing is still necessary on the webpages which are using the pgsql but the data is here.
hansbernhard’s drugblog is up again. he is missing one month of drugusage blogging which is a kind of artistic intervention into his personal system to.
the weekend starts for me now! i decided not to work over this weekend.
after the unconstuction of the event in freiraum yesturday, luc ( run.sonance.net ) came to repair the movalbe type blogs. at the end we did it after fildling around hours.
some of the blogentrys got lost, but the most of the are recovered.
he then started to copy over user homedirectorys and maildata form the backup over to the new system for hours! he had to stop it after we did run out of diskspace again on the new system. please clean up you homefolders, esecialy the people with the big gb folders ( renfah is the leader with 3 gb of webdata followed by cursor, minze and ile with more the 1.5 gb )

Video and Audiodata should be transfered to the streamingserver stream.sonance.net to we stored there. you can use the same loginname and password to transfer this data there. the address of the ftp service of stream is stream.sonance.net. contact the support team after you have done this to access your music and videos through the streaming server and to be played in the |sonance|radio|station we are forming this days.
ile ( ile.be ) did come a bit later and brought another harddisk as a gift of heike kaltenbrunner. thanks for the disk heike.
after ile reduced his 2.5gb to just 400mb now we started importing mailfolders (ile’s 1 gb! mailfolders ) into the new system and figured out that this is not so easy as we thought. we where fildlling with that agin for hours, but did not come to a point.
the maildata exists, but: how to get it into the new imap database? still a big, unanwered question . . . .
the change to the new serverroom was leading to a big diskussion as the netznetz meating did yesturday. i was out with franz xaver the hole night having talks about the planed voting system. it is a very critical point in the netculture community of vienna at this moment: can we really come up with a running voting system until the beginning of the next year, which can stand the preassures of press and critics?
we will see, but at the moment, it looks like it is going to be a hard trial.

the city is going to vote. FOX Media Labs and Pooool are invitingnetznetz to show their new community voting system MANA, the city goverment hopefully will be funding for the next year. within the system, the netculture producers of vienna can vote which of their projects should be funded by the artcouncil of the city.
MANA will be running in demo version for this voting night. in FREIRAUM in the MUSEUMSQUARTIER at the 5uper.net 5pace.

well, the firstaid section was DOWN today, cause a falt i did yesturday. it should be up soon again, after the DNS caches forgot the ip adress i did put wrong into the nameserver. tomorrow at least it should work again.

today i called for a recreation event to the vivi. stefan nussbaumer ( dieelektronische nuss ) form basislager came and helped me checking out the list of sonance hosted domains. pinzo from karate-joe brougt a machine to print out stickers to makr our lines. foo was here, helping a while. more |sonance|members did not step by on the announced event today. anyway……

It was getting a looong list by this day.in the new management software too there are now listed 159 of hosted dDomains, 178 wWebsites and 307 user mail / ftp accounts. This is the largest number of users sonance ever reached. The network keeps growing.

still the import of the user email boxes is to be done.if you want your OLD sonance User email INBOX to be imported to you NEW useraccount, please give us a mail too. tell us your old username and the new mailbox_username_domainname thing where we should put the OLD MAIL INBOX.
we plan to put all email and ftp user folders from the former system into each userftp directory anyway. you can then download your OLD email INBOX and MAILFOLDERS form your personal ftp account in mbox fromat.
the username to get access to you private-user-ftp-space is the same username as your email_user_name and the matching password.
well andreas, wolfgang, flo, matthias and 2 more people from funkfeuer are on the way to light up the fibreoptics link to the new serverroom. the are at the moment working on building up new shelves over there and splicing newhe firbeoptic lines form our old space to the new one.
the time of the transport of the |sonance|automats to the new space is no very far way any more. there are coming good a bad news with this transport. well the good thing is: it is a save place there and “our” i mean the funkfeuer’s infrastructure. the bad onec are: from that move one i have to pay 40 euros / per machine / per month.
well i do not really know how to handel that efford. i allready were covering a lot of costs of that quantities since years now for that network. for example only the hardware of the new server where all stuff is running on, did cost me around 4500 euros a year ago! this hobby does get quiet but more and more expensive for me.
i mean 5 machines X 40,- euronen X 12 month equals 2400 bugs per year ;-( without hardware costs.
ok, all traffic is included. this price covers just the costs of the electric power ( one machine 24×7 needs power for around about 30,- euro per month! )
yes: cyberhomes are expensive! specialy the free ones…… but not 4 you!
can you belive that: 30 euro electric power, 10 euro transfer-traffic-costs. the power is more expensive the the information trafic, nowadays in austria.
i mean, not that 40 euros per machine is a lot of money to get a serverhousing. no, it is cheap, but for me as private person it is just a lot of money per month 200 euros. that is just about as much as i pay for my part of the falt! i wanted to tell this to all of the sonance users, once, and now i have this change.
You can help us paying this feed, after we finished setting up the cultural accosiation with fundings, donations of sponsorings, if you are intressted in.
AND: you may will have the possibility to put your own machine there one day on such a price, if you are cultural producer.

Today the first part of the day i was alone here. After i gave interview to a funder i came back to the vivi. parasew was here and helped me copying the backups of all *.sonance.net subdomains onto the new server. he was sitting for more the 5 hours doing nothing but recreating files form the backups. echt matthias 5uper nett. vielen lieben dank.
Aldo Tolino came and brougt me a brandnew Maxtor Maxline III 300 GB disk and did set all ftp passwords of the sonance.net subdomains during i screwed the backup harddisk into the new backup server. thanks a lot Aldo.
Andreas Marksteiner (0xff) and Aaron Kaplan (lo-res) did came up with bad news: We have to leave the serverrooms we are useing very soon, cause the company atnet was bought by eunet and they want to change the keys to access the serverroom in one of the following days. One comes with the other…
During the summer the great Andreas and Wolfgang from FunkFeuer did managed togehter with Franz Xaver that we do get a new serverroom 1 block way form here. We went together to the new rooms to bring some machines there with the plan to take all sonance servers to the new room but we could not manage to do it today.
Florian Glaser ( aka lual ) came and gave me 130 euros to bye a new harddisk and helpt also for several hours setting the new ftp passwords to the passwords we did send to all users yesturday. great florian. a big hug to you.
The big task of Matthias Parasew was to copy the replaced index.html files into the new structure. it took him hours. at the end he was not able to see anymore.
If you are no accessing your filespace please check all your index files and replace them with your local backup. also check for all files named log* for example logo, cause the where also replaced by the script of this DigitalMind Hacktivist and netculture saboteur.
Please check your websides through and put the newest backup you have.

Today i decided to inform the users life form the hackerattack via this blog. That is going to be a little show now. After 38+ hours of work form sunday until now, it figured out that this hackerattac has a little bit something form a artistic intervention.
Well i write more about this thought another day……when i have more time.
FTP access is to be activated today, if i find some helping hands, it would be much faster. Take your machine and step by, please. You really do not need system administrator skills to be helpful!

Well yes after the 26 hour session i sleppt and then i worked 12 hours thourgh again.
Hans Bernhard called me up asking for his blog, former running on the hacked machine. He told me a story about, that they ( i think with etoy ) where hacked once during a online show. The hackers did attac then banks form there machines and etoy got into a lots of trouble.
After that they had to call Aaron from lo-res to help them securing there systems to be able go on with the show.
I where sending out all new user account information to gain the users email-access to the new server.
Aldo Tolino ( io-noi ), Christoph Nebel from the Wiener Kunstschule and Heike Kaltenbrunner promissed me harddisks . (Maxtor MaXLine II 300GB IDE yeah!)
Lual asked me for a bankaccount number to send money for a harddisk. I can not offer such a number at the moment, but will set it up soon.
By the night North stepped bye to help me fixing up the wiki system, cause his work seams to be gone. in the end he found everything he needed in our backups and so his project page is up and running again.
Luc promissed to come, but did not

At the end Matthias Subik helped me setting up better ANTI-Spam-Setting on the Mailservers.
